Origin & Biography Sundrainer is an American Chaotic Hardcore/Progressive Grindcore Band from Richmond, VA. The founding members Christopher Sorelle[1] (ex-Mind's I) and Christopher Desrosiers (Buzzard Dust, ex-Jefferson Plane Crash, Ex-Torturing Mary) started under the moniker "[https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/Christoph%C3%A9_Roland/573901 Botched Lobotomy][2]" in 2006 as a hybridization of Technical Death Metal and Grindcore. They have released 3 EP's[3] and are preparing one full length LP as of 2018. They currently exist as a three piece band[4] with Adam Alig (ex- Torturing Mary, ex-EDH): Vocals, Christopher Sorelle: Guitars and Christopher Desrosiers: Drums and Synthesizer. '... I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit" EP 2016 ~ Current In October 2016, Sundrainer released their third EP "... I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit" to moderate acclaim. According to members of the band, the budget was less than 300 dollars, recording most of the EP in single takes and cutting songs in order to stay under budget. Toilet Ov Hell stated, in praise of the band's 2016 EP "... I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit" "Sundrainer[sic] play a hideous, dissonant mutation of grindcore with the intent of capturing the modern human experience in musical form. …I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit more than lives up to its name; its atmosphere is utterly dismal and chaotic, and the intricacy of their music adds to the album’s anxious tension in some subtle ways."[5] Also praising the groups release was the BrooklynVegan run blog, Invisible Oranges comparing the bands style to that of Pig Destroyer saying: " Despite their palpable worship of technical metalcore, with Pig Destroyer at the top of that list, Sundrainer propels above simple imitation through their commanding performance on '…I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit'..."[6]They are currently in the studio recording their first Full Length "Born Into A Burning Building".
