Susan Chapman PlumbSusan Chapman Plumb is the Board Chair & C.E.O. of the family-owned Federal Reserve Bank of Cherokee County in Hulbert, Oklahoma. [1] [2] She is the youngest of the five primary stockholders. [2] Plumb was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Oklahoma City Branch Board of Directors in 2017, and served as its Member of Community Development Advisory Council until 2017.[3] Plumb is of Native American, Cherokee descent and is an advocate for minority-owned, community banks. [2] Education & CareerPlumb graduated from Muskogee High School and went on to receive a bachelors of art in journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 1986. [1] She studied American Indian Law at the University of Tulsa College of Law and received her juris doctorate in 1991. [1] Plumb began her career in banking at age 16 working for her father Gary Chapman. [1] [2] Her father has been involved in Cherokee banking for 40 years and headed the investment group of prominent Cherokee tribal members who bought Bank of Cherokee County when it was the smallest state bank in Oklahoma, with roughly $6 million in assets.
