Susan Ingersoll (né Susannah; c. 1785-1858) was the first cousin of American writer Nathaniel Hawthorne and her home served as the inspiration for Hawthorne's novel, The House of the Seven Gables.

Susannah was born in Salem, Massachusetts to Captain Samuel Ingersoll and Susannah Hathorne.^[1] Known for her love of history, Susannah's tales served as inspiration for Nathaniel Hawthorne's stories.^[2]
