Symphony RetailAI

Symphony RetailAI is an American software company and global provider of Artificial Intelligence-enabled decision platforms, solutions and customer-centric insights for the Retail and CPG Manufacturing industries. Symphony RetailAI has more than 1,200 companies as customers.

History

Symphony RetailAI was formed based on acquisitions and mergers of several companies and technologies since the mid-1980s. The main steps of the company’s history are the following:

Aldata, the first company at the basis of Symphony RetailAI, was formed in 1986. With its product line GOLD, Aldata provided retailers and wholesalers a solution for unifying demand forecasting, merchandise management, store operations and supply chain management to reduce costs, increase efficiency and improve margins.

In 2003, EYC – the second company at the basis of Symphony RetailAI – was founded. EYC solutions provided a strategic direction to identify and drive customer loyalty programs for retailers as well as engage the manufacturers in collaboration on those customer-centric insights and strategies.

2008: Acquisition of the assets of Information Resources Inc’s (IRI) Apollo Store Specific Space Planning.

2010: Cosmic Solutions Ltd was acquired as the next step in the organization’s Category Management strategy.

In 2012, Aldata and EYC rebranded as Symphony GOLD and Symphony EYC respectively, under the ownership of Symphony Technology Group. The combined organizations enabled customer insight and engagement strategies to link directly into retail assortment, merchandising and supply chain optimization to meet customer driven demand in real time.

2016: Acquisition of Metiri Mensus to strengthen the company’s ability to support existing business while positioning itself for development in Australia and New Zeland.

Acquisition of Fifth Dimension, adding virtual reality and advanced store planning to the organization’s broad solution portfolio.

In 2018, Symphony GOLD and Symphony EYC are merged to form Symphony RetailAI, creating a cohesive solution platform to meet the evolving needs of FMCG retailers and manufacturers.
