Early LifeBorn in Clearwater, Florida in 1996, he was raised by his mother and relocated to Miami, Los Angeles, and Barbados, before resettling in St. Petersburg, Florida to study at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts[3] fine art program at Gibbs High School. His mother is Egyptian, and his father is of Japanese and Italian descent. He studied at the University of Central Florida and received a BFA in Creative Writing. Takaya began studying and competing in ballroom and latin dance at the age of 10, and continued on until the age of 20[4]. During that time, he placed 1st[5] in the state of Florida and 2nd in the World at the United States Dance Championships (USDC) as the youngest competitor, twice. CareerIn 2014, Takaya started traveling from St. Petersburg to Tampa to take acting classes and began booking roles with casting directors and filmmakers holding auditions at the school.
