"Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk" is a song by English rock band Pink Floyd on their debut album, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. The song is the first to be written by Roger Waters.

Lyrics

The song is the only song on the album to not include Syd Barret as a writer or co-writer. The song is thought to be about a patient in a hospital that is in a great deal of pain. The nonsensical lyrics are thought to show the patients delirious behaviour.^[2]
