Robert McClenon (talk) 15:38, 20 March 2019 (UTC)}} Terry Moss Racing The Terry Moss Racing Team is a South African motorsport team based in Nelson Mandela Bay (Port Elizabeth),South Africa and is competing in the Global Touring Car series (GTC). The team signed drivers Michael Stephen and Simon Moss for its inaugural season in GTC 2016.Moss has competed for TMR in all subsequent seasons, while the leading car was previously driven by Michael Stephen and now in 2019 Tschops Sipuka. TMR partnered with Engen Petroleum in 1991 - 2018 and Audi in 2013 - Current, competing as the Engen Xtreme - Audi team during that period. With Engen Petroleum moving its support out of Motorsport at the end of December 2018, saw Terry Moss Racing without a 2019 Naming rights partner for the beginning of the 2019 season. The team is currently known as the Terry Moss Racing - Audi Team until a Title partner is secured. Overview: The Terry Moss Racing - Audi team is an initiative, whereby Terry Moss wanted to give back to motorsport and further develop and provide opportunities for fellow South Africans. In 1980 he was building engines and preparing race cars, before he was recruited as a works driver for Volkswagen followed on by Audi, winning international races and numerous National championships. It was during his term under the Audi banner, that he officially established Terry Moss Racing as a fully fledged business in 1991. Since 1991 Terry Moss Racing has helped establish 28 South Arican drivers, from the Karting breeding ground right through to South Africas premiere racing series, of which 14 drivers were of colour and 4 were woman, producing: 31 x South African Championships 57 x Podium Positions in South African Championships 5 x sets of Protea Colours First driver of colour to win a South African Championship (Terry Moss Racing and Engen Made history in producing SA’s first National Champion of Colour) Various International Success Driver of Colour to win a Regional Championship 10+ Club Championships |
