The Texas Alliance of Energy Producers is a non-profit trade association in the State of Texas that advocates for members of the petroleum industry in the United States.[1] They are best known for creating the Texas Petro Index, a tool that measures the state of the oil economy.[2] The index considers factors such as rig count; employment within the petroleum industry; and, petroleum prices and production levels.[3] The group also participates in activities such as identifying and tracking legislative and regulatory issues; drafting policy positions and board resolutions; and, influencing key legislators and policy makers to meet its members' goals.[4] The group remains one of the largest state independent oil and gas associations in the United States.[5] it is based in Wichita Falls, Texas. LeadershipJohn Tintera is the current president of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.
