The authorLeandro karnal, who wrote this book, is a professor from Unicamp, specialist in the history of america. He has publications about many things, including religion history and america history. When he was 24 years old, he moved for São Paulo to do a doctorage degree and start his carrer as a professor and a writer. The bookIn the book, karnal based himself in the metaphor of the hedgehog, created by [Arthur Schopenhauer[https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Schopenhauer], to show the problems of the human coexistence. He highlights that nowadays, we live in a virtual world, not in a real one. The simbol of the hedgehog used in this book concern the deadlock that the human being have, when he needs to face the lonely. The book cause a refletion about the idea of: until when we can live without another person, and what would be the limit of the pacific coexistence. The dillemaPublished by Schopenhauer in 1851, with this work, he was able to unify many philosophical notes. Originally, the dillema of the hedgehog was just a little part of the labor of Schopenhauer, but few times later, this ideia, was used by Sigmund Friedman in a popular tale and get relevance in philosophical studies. The ideia of this dilemma is simple. Basic it is a history of hedgehogs living closely, because of the cold, but, they started to get hurted by the spines, so they start to move away, and few moments later, they start to approach themselves again, and repeat this action for many time.
