The Discarded are a Canadian garage punk band that formed in February of 2016 from Orangeville, Ontario. At the time of formation, they were thirteen year old drummer, Caden Jax (Wasson), bassist, his brother, seventeen year old Jared Dean (Wasson) and singer, guitarist, J.P. (Joel) Wasson, their father. After five shows they headed into the Ian Blurton's Pro Gold Studio and recorded their nine song, self titled debut in one day.

This album was release on their own label, Rock Bottom Records, in February of 2017. 2017 saw extensive playing across southern Ontario and a supporting show at the Danforth Music Hall opening for the legendary garage rock band the Sonics. This album also saw the creation of two videos, Could that be you? and "Time bomb heart"

In August of 2017 the went back to Ian Blurton's Pro Gold Studio and recorded their follow up full length album entitled, Manifesto, that was released in February of 2018 on their label, Rock Bottom Records. This was again followed by extensive touring of southern Ontario in support of their album with some shows in support of Lowest of the Low. Further they created two videos for this album, "Do you want it now?" and "Janitor Joe".

In August of 2018 they once again ventured back to Ian blurton's Pro Gold Studios to record their ambitious third album. This was a three act, 17 song, punk rock musical called, Sound Check and Fury. The first act of this was release in March of 2019 as an EP entitled, "Not From This Town". They also created a video for the title track. The band is still currently active playing live shows in support of this record throughout this year with Act 2 and 3 of this recording to be released as a full album this November.

The band has employed the assistance on all three albums of Ian Blurton as a producer, engineer and mixer. Grammy nominated, Joao Carvalho in mastering all three albums. Band photography has been done by renowned photographer, Rick McGinnis for all albums with Rachael Muir designing the bands logo and all three albums.

The members:

Bassist, Jared Wasson produced the Orangeville band, Sharky! first EP in John Critchley's Green Door Studio, in February of 2019 with Joel assisting as the bands drummer.

Joel Wasson is a long time Toronto musician. Originally a drummer, Joel was apart of the mid eighties Toronto hardcore scene as a drummer for Creative Zero. The alternative rock scene of the late eighties and nineties as a drummer, singer and songwriter for Big King Corpse, Big Daddy Cumbuckets, Fifth Column, Snowdogs, Godbox and the J.P.Wasson Band as a singer, guitarist though the nineties to present.

Caden Wasson is still a student in high school and a box lacrosse player in the summer.
