The band was composed of singer Chris (Dog) Brown, guitarist/singer Matt (Trucker) Tralaw, bassist Mark Foenander, drummer Jack Stow, singer/percussionist Dan Greaves and Daniel McMorran. They split after a final show in Watford on 29th September 2012. Early yearsThe band made an inauspicious start to their career playing their first gig at Camelot Rugby Club in Hemel Hempstead on 17th September 1999 (band member, Dan Greaves’ 19th birthday). The band played a mixture of covers and a few original songs. They made their debt at a ‘proper’ music venue when they played at The Horn (then known as the Horn Reborn) in St Albans in early 2000 and continued to play gigs at local venues in and around Hemel Hempstead building a loyal fanbase. The Habits entered the “Battle of the Bands” competition at The Horn later that year and made it to the final in June of 2001. They ended up finishing in a disappointing third place but they solidified themselves as a local favourite in the process. The moderate success of the battle of the bands competition propelled the band to start gigging on the London circuit and they played their first London show at the The Half Moon, Putney later that year. Over the following years the band continued to write original songs and played numerous gigs across the capital at venues such as Camden Underworld, The Barfly, O2 Academy Islington, Blow Up (club night) and The Borderline to name a few. Roll OnAfter generating some interest in the music industry the band signed to indie record label “Mr Rock & Roll Records” in 2006 and began recording their debut album “Roll On” at London Music Studios studios in Bermondsey, London later the same year. This coincided with the band signing a sponsorship deal with fashion label Fenchurch (clothing). The recording was completed in late 2006 and the album was then mixed by multi Grammy award winning and famed US producer Michael Barbiero and mastered by another Grammy award winner George Marino at Sterling Sound in New York. The album was released in spring/summer of 2007 and to mark the occasion the band played a series of launch shows, appeared on BBC Radio and headlined the 2nd stage of the Music on the Moor festival in their hometown of Hemel Hempstead. The band continued to tour the UK over the next two years but split from Mr Rock n Roll records before recording started on their follow up album. NowAfter the band split in 2012, Matt Tralaw and Jack Stow went on to form the bluegrass influenced band Sweetcorn Bread. Sweetcorn Bread also includes Robert Harwood-Stamper who appeared as a guest musician on The Habits album Roll On. Mark Foenander, Dan Greaves and Daniel McMorran are no longer involved in the music industry. The whereabouts of Chris Brown are unknown. DiscographyStudio albums
