The Mall at Bay Plaza is an {{convert|780000|ft2|m2}} shopping mall located in Baychester, Bronx, New York City, adjacent to the Bay Plaza Shopping Center. The mall has stores like Macy's and JCPenney, and has over 100 specialty stores and food court, as well as two parking garages, one adjacent to Macy's, the other adjacent to JCPenneu. It opened on August 14, 2014.[1][2] The Mall at Bay Plaza is the first enclosed anchored fashion mall opened in the New York City area in almost 40 years after Queens Center opened in 1973.[3] The developer hired the Los Angeles-based architectural firm Altoon & Porter Architects as the builder, and also hired Aurora Contractors — a New York-based firm — as Construction Manager. The mall is located at the Hutchinson River Parkway and I-95. A new {{convert|160000|ft2|m2}}, three-level Macy’s and the existing {{Convert|150000|ft2|m2}}, three-level JCPenney anchors the development. Two new parking garages were built as well.
