}}The Moon Kids are a Scottish rock band formed in 2014 by singer, songwriter David Barr.[1][2] The band has been heavily championed by American disc jokey Rodney Bingenheimer[3] and released their new single "Kootch Punk" on Californian-based record label Posh Boy Records. The name "The Moon Kids" was inspired by 70's cult film The Warriors. Their influences include Blur, The La's, David Bowie, Dutch Uncles, The Smiths & The Happy Mondays.[4] In 2015 The Moon Kids made it to the final of The International Songwriting Competition with their song Luna Park. The band was knocked off the top spot by Vance Joy's Riptide. Previous winners at the time included Gotye, Bastille, & The Band Perry.
