The Network for Business Sustainability (NBS) is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 and housed at the Ivey Business School in London, Canada.[1] It is comprised of a network of more than 6000 business leaders, academic researchers and students focused on advancing sustainable business. The Executive Director, Tima Bansal, defines business sustainability as: “Business models and decisions that create economic value and that benefit the world today and tomorrow.” Sustainability is applicable across business functions, including operations, strategy, finance, stakeholder engagement, communications, marketing and human resources.[2] NBS is continuously generating new research related to sustainable business development strategies regarding company fiscal and green responsibility.[3] In collaboration with international academia partners, NBS breaks down annual Canadian sustainability challenges for businesses, designing for sustainable effectivess.[4][5] In 2012, NBS and its Leadership Council won the award for Virtuoso Award of Excellence recognized by The International Association of Business Communicators for its publication regarding innovation at three stages of sustainable business.[6] Réseau entreprise et développement durable (REDD) is the Francophone office of NBS, housed at Université du Québec à Montréal. REDD works in conjunction with NBS to ensure the translation of research across the francophone audience. MissionNBS's mission is to enable businesses everywhere to contribute to strong, flourishing communities and healthy ecosystems by providing relevant tools and research to guide business decisions.[7] PartnershipsThe Network for Business Sustainability is enabled by a public-private funding model. It received $2.1 million in funding from Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council from 2008-2015. This was matched 1:1 by support from corporate partners. Its longstanding partners have included TD Bank, Canadian Pacific Railway, Suncor, Tim Hortons, Tembec, Unilever, Telus, Holcim and others.[2] External Links
