The Petermen is a scottish folk duo which was formed in Dundee in 1967. The group members were Vic Peterson and Mike Petrie.They were both active performers in the local folk clubs in Dundee and surrounding areas.

It was, whilst performing as support artistes at the Dundee folk club they decided to team up and form The Petermen.

They soon found themselves to be held in high regard in the scottish folk scene and were regularily performing on BBC radio broadcasts.

In September 1968 they released an LP on the RCA label called The Petermen.

This album was produced by a very young Mike Kerr and also featured the Strawberry Hill Boys as session players.Dave Cousins,Tony Hooper and Ron Chesterman gave the album a fresh appeal adding to its success as a folk album.

A few months later however the duo split up Mike Petrie stayed around Dundee and Arbroath and sadly passed away in the late seventies.

Vic Peterson went on to record a further 3 Albums as the male half of the very successful group Juniper Green.
