There's a web and mobile app, or you can sync with Outlook and other standard email apps. Instant messagingAn instant messaging service, Thexyz Chat[6], was launched in May, 2014. TechnologyThe site developers are active in the spam and abuse prevention industry and have shown success in preventing fraud and abuse with behavior patterns [7]. Thexyz uses a Multi-layered Email[8] spam filter, each email that arrives is checked via IP address and compared to an aggregated spam blacklist compiled from multiple spammer tracking systems. It is also scanned with Cloudmark's industry leading spam detection software and manages several internal blacklists. Thexyz also provides for two-factor login using a YubiKey. While associating one or more YubiKeys with an account at Thexyz will not prevent normal logins, it allowed for logging on to an account with just a YubiKey and its auto-generated one time passwords, making it suitable for accessing email on public machines. The YubiKey login feature was introduced in February 2016[9], which works alongside the existing two-factor authentication method.[10] The email service also supports the U2F and the TOTP protocol as a secondary sign-in factor, allowing users to sign in with their password and a security token as an extra security feature. In early 2016, Thexyz and other email providers were sent extortion demands by Armada Collective. Unlike Protonmail, no ransom was paid and service was not affected.
