}}Tony Wagner is an education professional from Harvard University.[1] He serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the Learning Policy Institute and was the founder and co-director of Harvard's Change Leadership Group from 2000-2010 . Wagner has worked as a consultant for improving schools falling under the U.S. Department of Education, the Massachusetts State Department of Education, and The Bill & Melinda Gates foundation.[2] He is the author of popular book Creating Innovators: The Making of Young People Who Will Change the World and The Global Achievement Gap.[1][3]

Background

Wagner was born in 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland . He earned an M.A.T. in 1971 and an Ed.D. at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education in 1992.[4]

Wagner started his career as a teacher and later served as Senior Education Advisor to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Education Division from 1999 - 2008.[5] As co-director of Harvard's Change Leadership Group, he advocated educational reforms working on the global challenges faced in the field of education.[6] He was also a part of Expert in Residence (EiR) program of The Harvard Innovation Lab (i-Lab) from 2014-2017.[7]

Since 2015, Wagner is a Senior Research Fellow at the Learning Policy Institute conducting research on challenges and opportunities for innovations in college admissions.[8] He also serves as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Atentiv, Inc.[9]
