Tran Tuan Viet (born 1983) is a Vietnamese photographer living in Vietnam.[1] He is contributing photographer of National Geographic, that have photo featured on National Geographic book and magazine.[2]. Viet is the photographer, mentor, guest speaker on TV shows such as VTV1, VTV4, VTV6, VTV7, main channels of Vietnam Television and VTC20, NhanDanTV (the official television channel of Nhân_Dân newspaper of the Communist Party of Vietnam), VOVTV (television channel of Voice of Vietnam).

Early life and education

Viet was born in Vinh in 1983. He moved to Hanoi in 2001.

  • From 1998 to 2001: He attended the High School for Gifted Students, Vinh University.
  • From 2001 to 2006: He attended the National University of Civil Engineering , studied architecture.

Career

  • 2007: Viet start as a freelance and passionate photographer.
  • 2015: Viet start to join YourShot, National Geographic's photo community
  • 2016: Viet join Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
  • 2017: Viet is recorded as the most successful Vietnamese photographer of the community.[3]
  • 2018: Viet is judge of Canon Photomarathon Vietnam 2018, one of the biggest photography contest in Vietnam.[4]

Awards

  • 2017: Gold medal on The 9th international artistic photo contest in Vietnam.[5]
  • 2017: Vietnam's Excellence Photography of the Year Award.[6]
  • 2018: Travel category winner of the 15th Annual Smithsonian.com Photo Contest, selected from 48,000 submissions submitted by photographers in 155 countries and territories.[7] [8]
