{{AFC submission|d|bio|u=Whitefinch|ns=118|decliner=StraussInTheHouse|declinets=20190324195525|ts=20190303020234}} {{AFC submission|d|ilc|u=Whitefinch|ns=118|decliner=CNMall41|declinets=20190124055448|small=yes|ts=20190124055230}} Trevor William Clark (born 1955) is a Canadian novelist, short story writer and sometime photographer,[1] whose pictures have been published in books and papers such as The Globe and Mail and Now (newspaper).[2] Late bank robber Stephen Reid (writer) of The Stopwatch Gang (and author of A Crowbar In The Buddhist Garden: Writing From Prison) endorsed his novel Hair-Trigger and provided a blurb for the cover: “Trevor Clark’s writing is as clean as a flying bullet, his characters are messy and tender, their stories as ragged and bloody as the exit wound.”[3] His books sometimes touch on crime but are more concerned with the people involved, often on the edge or outside the community. "Trevor Clark's sympathy for jailbirds, panhandlers and whores is tempered by keen insight into the complications of their lives."[4] He also focuses on society. "Told in clear, understated prose, Love On the Killing Floor is a rare, sharp work of social realism, providing a vivid portrait of Toronto at a precise moment in time."[5]

Clark was raised in Toronto and has lived in the UK, Vancouver and Montreal, where he currently resides. Among other things, he has worked as an oil rig roughneck, editor, portrait photographer, bookstore manager, and home entertainment coordinator for a movie and television production company in their London office, where he lived for a few years.[2] {reflist}} He was married to writer and professor Diana Cooper-Clark of York University, for whom he took photos for two books of interviews.[6] They have a daughter, born in 1986. He later married again, and is now divorced.
