BiographyAndrei Andreevich Tutunov was born on the 28th of January in 1928 in Moscow. His father, Andrei Vasilievich Tutunov, was ethnically Armenian, and his mother, Elizaveta Nikolaevna Tutunova, came from the Sakharov family. His elder brother Sergei later also became an artist. In the end of the 1930s Andrei Tutunov together with his brother were accepted to Moscow Middle Art School, where he first studied sculpturing, and later landscape painting. During the World War II, he was evacuated to Bashkarostan, where he continued his studies. He returned to Moscow in 1943. In 1949 Andrei Tutunov entered Surikov University. Having completed his studies, he graduated in 1954. In 1954 Andrei Tutunov became a member of the Artist's Union of the USSR. Having finished work on such pictures as “Summer Night” (1957), “The Bridge” (1959), by the 1960s Tutunov became a globally recognised master of landscape painting. His art has always maintained the classic approach of the [https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Russian_School_of_Painting%7C“russian Russian School of Painting], created by Konstantin Korovin and Konstantin Yuon. In 1957 Tutunov's picture “May” was exhibited at the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tretyakov_Gallery|State Tretyakov Gallery] for the first time. Since the year 1960 Andrei Tutunov has been a tutor at an art studio, and a mentor at the D. Kardowsky House of Art. He has been exhibiting his paintings at various art shows since 1953. His pictures were exhibited at National and Regional art fairs, as well as at international events in Paris and in Venice. His personal displays took place in Moscow in 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987 and 2013.
