Untamed is an upcoming steel roller coaster located at Walibi Holland in Biddinghuizen, the Netherlands. The ride is being constructed by Rocky Mountain Construction and will replace roller coaster Robin Hood. It is expected to open on the 1st of July 2019.

History

Plans for the ride were first announced on the 6th of February 2018.[1] Robin Hood would be closing at the end of the 2018 season and renovation would start to turn it into a steel-tracked coaster. It would feature brown-coloured I-Box steel track, and some parts of the wooden supports of Robin Hood would be reused.[2][3]

Untamed will feature 5 inversions.[4] Since the ride is still under construction, details about the full ride experience have yet to be declared.

Timeline

  • At the end of October 2018, the first preparatory works started.[5]
  • On the 29th of October 2018, the name, Untamed, was unveiled.[6]
  • On the 11th of December 2018, the first track parts were installed. [7]
  • On the 17th of December 2018, the first element of the ride was revealed: a 45 degree outside banking turn between the station and the lift hill. [8]
  • On the 14th of February 2019, the lift hill reached its highest point at 36.5 meters. [9]
  • By the beginning of March 2019, the first inversion was installed named a step-up underflip. Furthermore, a new element was placed: a 97 degree outside stall.[10]
