Utsav Mukherjee is a Bengali film director who works as a filmmaking supervisor at The School of Media, Jadavpur University, Kolkata since 2014. He co-owns a film production house, Raw Stock Motion Pictures [1]. Previously, he has worked as a documentary filmmaker in an archive called School of Cultural Texts and Records at Jadavpur University from 2006 -2008. Besides working at the university, Utsav has directed a film named Under Exposed, which was a documentary on a veteran cinematographer, Ramananda Sengupta[2]. He made a documentary on an ace swimmer from Kolkata, Aparajita back in 2007 [3] Into The Timeless, was another documentary of his which was on a veteran bengali singer, Ram Kumar Chattopadhyay (2008) [4]. Utsav has written and directed two feature films; Half Serious (2013) [5] [6]and Bheetu (Coward) (2015) [7] [8]. In addition to these, he has co-written several films; namely, Meghnadbadh Rahasya (screenplay, 2017), Bhobishyoter Bhoot (screenplay, 2019), Barun Babur Bondhu (under production) and Kuasha Jakhon (screenwriter, 2018) [9]. In The Mood For (2008) and Mom I Killed Her (2018) [10] are two of the short films that he has directed. As a creative individual he spends a fair amount of his time in carrying out commissioned work besides his own. He has spent a substantial amount of his time directing shows for television. Some of the shows that he has directed and co-directed are, Rojgere Ginni (2009-2011), Tomay Notun Kore Pabo Bole (2010-2011), Home Shanti Home (2011-2012), Byanjonbarno (2011) and ABP Ananda Anchor Hunt (co-directed) (2011-2012). Academically, he holds a masters degree in film studies from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India.
