The Vanderbilt Commodores Women's Bowling program represents Vanderbilt University in the sport of Bowling. The team competes in the Southland Bowling League (SBL), which is a bowling only conference section of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Vanderbilt has competed in the NCAA Bowling Championships every year from 2006-2018, but competed in the final match four times within this time frame, winning the title match two out of the four times in 2007 and 2018.[1]. Coaching StaffJohn Williamson has been the Vanderbilt Bowling team's head coach since 2004-05. Williamson has been recognized for Vanderbilt Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2018 and NCAA Coach of the Year in 2007[2]. Associate head coach, Josie Earnest-Barnes, was a student athlete on the Commodores bowling team before she was asked by Williamson to join the coaching staff. In 2013, Barnes was the first member of the bowling program to be inducted into Vanderbilt's Athletic Hall of Fame[3]. Barnes is currently a member of the Professional Women's Bowling Association tour and a member of bowling's Team USA. Conference ChampionshipsThe Commodores have participated in the Southland Bowling League since the league's beginning in 2015. Vanderbilt has won the conference title in 2015 and 2017, both times defeating Arkansas State University.
