| 释义 | The VBS Bank Heist is the largest bank heist in South African history committed by 53 people between 1 March 2015 to 17 June 2018 involving approximately R1.89 Billion[1] The Econonomic Freedom fighters and its Deputy President Floyd Shivambu have benefited financially from the VBS Bank Heist. Which involved Floyd Shivambus brother Brian Shivambu receiving R16,148,569 and channeling R10-million through a shell company called Sgameka Projects of which Brian Shivambu is the sole director into Floyd’s personal bank account.[2] The SABC Limpopo based radio station Phalaphala FM was censored from discussing topics regarding VBS Mutual Bank, Vhavenda King Toni Mphephu Ramabulana and the Vhembe District Municipality in Limpopo[3], due to the Venda king involvement in the heist, via Vele Investments which was a majority shareholder of VBS in March 2017 and founded by Venda king Toni Mphephu Ramabulana and his financial adviser Tshifiwa Matodzi[4] He acquired a luxury house worth R7.8-million at Dainfern Golf Estate, a R1.1-million Range Rover Sport, a R1.5-million BMW 750Li, and a R1.3-million Mercedes-Benz Viano as well as a R12 million Bell 222 Helicopter with the heist money.[5] |
