Victoire Loup (also known as Victoire Louapre) is a French food critic, consultant and TV personality based in Los Angeles. Early lifeVictoire Loup grew up in the South of France and Paris, born in a family of perfumers from Grasse. She often studied and lived abroad, in Brisbane, London, Madrid, Oxford and ended back in Paris where she graduated from SciencesPo. CareerWork as a food criticVictoire Loup mostly writes reviews for Le Fooding, a French restaurant guide and culinary brand in which the Michelin Guide recently acquired a 40% stake[1]. The New Yorker describes it as: “Le Fooding is to cooking what the New Wave was to French cinema.”[2] From 2013 to 2016, Victoire Loup was also Media Manager for Le Fooding, worked on their events in France and abroad, and participated in the skyrocketing growth of their Instagram account. During that time, Victoire worked with the most famous chefs in the world, including Yotam Ottolenghi, Alain Passard, Cyril Lignac, Pierre Gagnaire, Enrique Olvera, Danny Bowien… Victoire Loup now travels across the United States to review restaurants (recently: New York City, Chicago, New Orleans, Boston, etc.) for French magazines, as well as a few American ones — Flaunt and Food Republic among others. After moving to California in 2016, she launched In The Loup, a restaurant review website that quickly gathered the attention of prominent industry publications, such as the LA Times[3] and Eater[4]. Journalists from all over the world have solicited her expertise on gastronomy: The Sunday Times[5], Vogue[6], Afar[7], Glamour, Business Insider, etc. Media personalityOver the past two years, Victoire Loup has appeared as a guest judge and co-host on several cooking TV shows, including Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back and Viceland’s Bong Appetit. She has also appeared in interviews on M6, France 2, BFM, NY1, etc. In 2015, Conde Nast Traveler chose Victoire Loup as their lead role for a video shoot in Paris[8], directed by the award-winning producer of The Mind of a Chef (James Beard Award winner). Victoire Loup also starred in a promotional video for S.Pellegrino[9] with chef Ludo Lefebvre, produced by Bon Appetit Magazine. Her Instagram account is often quoted as an influent one in the gastronomic world.[10][11], followed by renowned chefs such as Rene Redzepi and Cyril Lignac. The LA Times wrote an article about Victoire Loup's move to Los Angeles and how “Instagram was [her] business card”[3] ConsultantVictoire Loup also works as a consultant for food & beverage companies, chefs and restaurateurs. She specializes in the relocation of French restaurants looking to expand to the United States, but has performed critical work for brands such as Airbnb[12], Pommery and Cartier.
