Dr. Victor A. Forys M.D. is a Polish-American medical practitioner, political candidate, and actor. He is best known for his work at Community First Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where he has been practicing medicine for over 21 years.

Early Life

"Forys arrived in the U.S. from Poland at age 4. He grew up in Chicago and earned a medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also studied in Poland, where he took part in early demonstrations that led to the Solidarity movement’s overthrow of the communist government, he said during his campaign."^[1]

Political Career

In 2009, Forys ran as a Democratic candidate in the special election for Illinois's 5th congressional seat to replace incumbent Rahm Emanuel. In the Democratic primary, Forys ran against 11 other candidates. He received 12% of the vote (6,415 votes) and placed 4th in the primary. Michael Quigley won the Democratic nomination with 22% of the vote.^[2]

Acting Career

Forys's acting debut came with the 2011 adaptation of The Dream Play. Along with being an executive producer of the film, he delivered a stunning portrayal of 'Man in Bar'^[3]. The film was shown at the Midwest Independent Film Festival in 2011 and was nominated for best feature film.^[4]

Points of Intrigue

On June 5, 1991, Forys released his publication on etidronate and osteoarthritis, titled Etidronate and osteoarthritis.^[5]

On February 6th, 2011, Forys was arrested for misdemeanor battery after shoving a man in the lobby of the Trump International Hotel & Tower. According to a police report, the victim was left with "a laceration above his right eye."
