Vladimir Gerasichev (born November 7, 1967) is a Russian-American business trainer and coach.:[1]. He is an author of the documentary film Life. The Missing Manual (more than 11 million viewers) and a co-author of the book How to Create your Dream Team. Vladimir was a host of the show Keep Your Word on TV Rain[2] and Context on Channel One Russia. Vladimir is married to wife Lora and father of three children.

Biography

Vladimir Gerasichev was born in 1967 in Cheboksary to a family of journalists. Both of his parents studied at the Leningrad State University School of Journalism (today, known as Saint Petersburg State University). Following their graduation in early 1967 the family temporarily moved to Cheboksary, where Vladimir’s mother was offered a placement. As Vladimir was born, the family decided to return to Leningrad.

In 1973 the family moved to Moscow and, again, in 1976 to New York, where Vladimir’s father was offered a position of a news correspondent with the USSR State Committee for Television and Radio. The family settled in Manhattan which was quite unusual for that time with most of the government employees generally placed on the Soviet Embassy or Soviet Mission compounds. Vladimir attended a school of the Soviet Mission to the United Nations. Living in a regular apartment complex with John Lennon living next block, Vladimir in his early years got to experience an American life in its full. In 1980 Vladimir’s family returned to Moscow.

In 1984–85 Vladimir worked for the USSR State Television and Radio broadcasting Committee in Moscow in a position of a progressman.

In 1988 Vladimir enrolled at the school of international journalism of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, one of the oldest higher education institutions in Russia.

In 1989 Vladimir Gerasichev became an editor-in-chief of the magazine Inward Path (Russian: “Путь к Себе”). Printed 150 000 copies it became the first privately held magazine to be printed on the premises of Pravda Publishing House, formerly the official newspaper of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

Same year Vladimir co-founded an educational center Inward Path (Russian: “Путь к Себе”), which opened some opportunities to invite local and international speakers to deliver the talks on the topics of health, psychology, time management, team building.

Open Forum (1995 - 2007)

In 1994 Vladimir Gerasichev started his own coaching company Open Forum which offered a number of development courses designed to increase personal effectiveness and develop critical thinking skills.

In 1999 Open Forum conducted its first training program for corporate clients; among its first graduates were representatives of Procter & Gamble and R-Telecom. In 2000 Vladimir and a team of Open Form coaches introduced “context” – a unique coaching method, developed to help companies and individuals create efficient working environment and discover opportunities for sustainable growth[3].

Since 2004 he has been a visiting professor at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, National Research University Higher School of Economics and Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.

Business Relations (2007 - present)

Today, the company has over 250,000 alumni in 25+ countries across the globe, including the following corporate clients: Adidas, Amway, BBDO, Burger King, Chanel, DHL, Ernst & Young, Home Credit Bank, JetSmarter, Johnson & Johnson, Megafon, MTS, Raiffeisen Bank International, Red Bull, Sbarro, Sberbank, Schwarzkopf & Henkel, Sitronix, Skolkovo, The Procter & Gamble Company, TNKFBP, X5Retail Group, Wrigley, and others.

TV

In 2010 Vladimir launched a TV show Context, or the Art of Being Happy on Channel One Russia.

In 2012 he directed a research-based documentary Life. The Missing Manual. Based on the success stories of some of the most influential modern entrepreneurs (Nick Vujicic, Pierre Cardin, Rainer Nõlvak, Arkady Novikov, Evgeni Plushenko, Euzhan Palcy, The "Young Heart" Choir and others) the film propagates the idea of individual responsibility.

In 2012-2013 Vladimir hosted a TV show Keep Your Word with Vladimir Gerasichev on TV Rain (5 seasons).

In 2016 Vladimir hosted a show Getting the Business to Take Off on RBK TV, where he coached live a number of business teams.

Publications

In 2008 Vladimir Gerasichev and Oleg Sinyakov co-authored a book How to Create your Dream Team.
