Vladislav Yakovlev was born in Moscow on August 3, 1980. After graduating from school, in September 1997, Vladislav entered the International Slavonic University in Moscow. He studied English, Chinese and Italian there.

Career Start

In 2002, he completed his studies at the university and began his professional activities on Channel One Russia, where he worked until 2005, after which he switched to the RTR Media Holding - Rossiya 1. From 2007 to 2008 he was the General Director of the project "Factory of Stars-7" Fabrika Zvyozd. In 2009, when Eurovision was held in Moscow, Vladislav Yakovlev was appointed to the post of deputy executive director of the event. This role opened the door for him at EBU, where he began working since 2010.

In the European Broadcasting Union

In 2011, Vladislav Yakovlev was appointed responsible for restarting Eurovision Young Dancers, which has not been held since 2006. He successfully changed the format of the competition and organized it in Oslo, Norway, and then repeated his success in 2013 in Polish Gdansk and in 2015 in Czech Pilsen. In addition to the contest of young dancers, Vladislav Yakovlev became involved in organizing and improving the format of another important EBU contest - Eurovision Young Musicians, which was held in Vienna in Austria in 2012 and already in a modified format - in Cologne, Germany on May 31, 2014.

After successful managing of these international competitions, Vladislav Yakovlev replaced Sietse Bakker as an executive supervisor for Junior Eurovision, who was on the verge of closing.

After a series of meetings with broadcasters, he managed to reanimate the competition, which was held in Kiev on November 30, 2013 in an updated format with 12 countries.

In 2014, Malta hosted the Competition already with 16 countries, and in 2015, 18 countries participated in Sofia, Bulgaria. The modified contest format was a great success.

Due to major disagreements with the EBU management, on December 2, 2015, Vladislav was forced to resign from EBU. Since 2016, Vladislav has been engaged in his own TV projects.
