VOMIT CLOCKS ! VOMIT CLOCKS was a 1960/70s mid-century craft trend where one incorporated rocks or other items (dead insects, dried plants, glitter, shells, glass beads) into a mold (clock, animal, trivet, plate) and poured in a clear or colored resin which hardened into the molded object. . . The final result looks like regurgitated vomit or a gelatin salad full of fruit or meat chunks. On the Facebook page, 'Weird Thrift Store Items That Need to be Shared", the term "vomit clock" came into being and popularity in September 2018. 'Vomit Clock' was originally used to describe a Lanshire Clock face imbedded in a mantle clock form that had small stones covered in a colored resin. The descriptive word VOMIT CLOCK was used in the same post by two people, Adda Dada being one of the people. Both were unaware of the other comment, it was completely serendipitous. Members of the 'Weird Thrift Store Items' group found it descriptively hilarious...and the word, VOMIT CLOCKS was born and it quickly caught on . Since the making of VOMIT CLOCKS and other VOMIT CRITTERS were mainly confined to the 1960/70s, they are hard to find in thrift shops . Thus, the game 'SPOT A VOMIT CLOCK IN THE WILD' was born which spawned 'FIND ANY VOMIT ITEM IN THE WILD ' . The 'weirdness and uniqueness' of VOMIT CLOCKS & CRITTERS tsunamied quickly , and the Facebook group VOMIT CLOCKS was created. Various thrifters are now purchasing the VOMIT CLOCKS and VOMIT CRITTERS/ITEMS and taking them home, thus giving them a FOREVER VOMIT HOME. Part of the fun in the VOMIT CLOCK postings is the description of the Vomit Clock which can go from the simple 'tomato soup vomit clock' to the insanely wild relm , as "baby teeth & beans with rocks embedded in Elizabeth Taylor's Passion perfume purple vomit clock" The VOMIT CLOCKS vernacular has spawned many terms: 'VC' : abbreviation for...you guessed it..VOMIT CLOCK.
