The von der Golz (von der Golz, Gfen und Fhrn.) family (not to be confused with the Prussian branches von der Goltz) are 13th century noble family, whom can be tracked to the era of the Holy Roman Empire, from both the northern and southern parts of the empire, the family later developed into many branches which became scattered, and developed into the Lower Austria line.[1] Originally the Old noble family known to rise at first in the Dacien regions, as from there to Poland, Bohemia, Silesia and later Brandenburg that with many branches of the family settling in different regions.[2] As most common ancestor Andreas von der Golz, which paid in the year 1113 for his settling (at first) in Poland to supreme commander of King Boleslaw III. Andreas's son, Johann called himself in later years "Johann the pious" and ruler of Golczweo.[3] in the year 1369 the von der Golz were diverted into two lines, the Clausdorfsche (The Black Line) and the Herinrichsdorfschem (The White Line), as the second later transformed itself into the Brandenburgsche line and later on as the family become integral part of the Prussian duchy and later kingdom the Prussian von der Goltz line .[4] The first known von der Golz. to come to Lower Austria (Niederösterreich), was Gunther von der Golz in the mid-end of the 15th century (estimated 1583)[4][5] Throughout the 17th century the blood-line of the original Austrian branch was in no comparison to its Prussian counterpart whom have both been fast growing by their number and by ranks among the Germanic elite society due to their military service with the Prussian army.[6][4][3] References1. ^{{Cite book|url=http://worldcat.org/oclc/249980237|title=J.
