WarFallen is a first person multiplayer hack and slash[1] video game developed and published by Frosty Elk AB[2] for Microsoft Windows. The game takes place in a fictional medieval themed world, where two teams battle not only each other, but also the infected that now roams the lands. The games melee fighting system is based upon the system developed for the Half-Life 2 mod, Age of Chivalry. Notable about the new system is that all weapons can be used as ranged and melee, you can parry with the longbow and throw your swords. The player fights through a first person view, wielding a large variation of melee and ranged weapons. You play as one of 4 characters, Archer, Crusader, Plague Doctor or Blacksmith. Each character has unique abilities, such as building, repairing, healing and placing command points. Choose either of the 2 teams, the Old Knights or the New Order and attack or defend castles, villages in different game modes. Siege a castle, drive a noble to safety or raid a village at the same time as you have to battle the infected[4], that acts as a third element that you always need to be aware of. The game does not feature a single player campaign, but can be played offline with AI controlled players, there is also a tutorial provided. Game modesEach map plays in its own way, but builds upon a set of different game modes that define the rules. Team Objective: Players play in either the attacking team or defending team, needing to complete a set of tasks to win or defend before the game time runs out. Team Deathmatch: When the game time runs out, the team with the most kills of players in the opposite team wins. ClassesThe player choose a role from 4 classes[5], the classes are the same on both teams, but looks and colors vary. Archer - She has speed and agility as well as impressive skills with ranged weapons. Crusader - Commander and conqueror. Swords and shields are his weapons of choice, but he has the ability to call in distant trebuchet fire and set command points that makes areas tactical improved. Plague Doctor - With the syringe and bone-saw as primary weapon he can heal and cure his team, he can also use the syringe to infect the enemy. The doctor also has the ability to unlock medicine cabinets and throw health-packs. Blacksmith - His hammer can build siege engines, place traps, repair broken structures and upgrade his team. With the hammer he can also steal armor from the enemy. BackgroundIt all begun hundred of years ago in a land divided by two rival factions. Both factions believe they have the right to the throne and have been waging war over the crown for as long as anyone can remember. But death takes its toll, corpses and blood-red rivers from the WarFallen makes the perfect growing grounds for diseases of all kinds. Where and why it all begun, is still unknown. At first it was only a few infected, in a small village. But it rapidly grew and spread all over the lands. The two factions who once where fighting each other, now must stand side by side to fight an even greater enemy, the infection! But the hate remains strong within the factions, and it is not with joy that they must to seek help from the enemy. There are a few places where the infection has not yet reached, these places now have huge value.
