| 释义 | Wingman is a mobile matchmaking/dating app that allows friends to pick matches for their single friends. The Wingman can set up their single friend by writing a testimonial, browse through profiles and swiping on selected profiles before deciding on who to introduce their friend to. Users who are single can choose to introduce themselves to potential matches or let their Wingman introduce them instead. Founder, Tina Wilson, came up with the concept when all her friends were in relationships but she was single. Her friends were eager to set her up on dates, but weren’t there physically to do this. Wilson’s friends helped write her profiles and select her pictures when she used other dating apps. Wanting to make this easier for other matchmakers out there in the world, she created Wingman. On April 2017, the beta version of the app was launched. The app is currently available to download for IOS and Android users living in the US and UK. Users can sign up with their Facebook profile or phone number. In 2018, Wingman worked with animal charities, Paw Works and Second Chance Rescue, in helping rescue homeless animals from shelters. |
