Winnie Mzembe is an Australian born actress who began intense training at 8 years of age.

In 2005, she was the recipient of the Public Speaking Award for a Brisbane annual speaking competition. In 2008, she received an award of excellence from well renowned acting coach and drama co-ordinator D. Findlay. Later that year, she auditioned for the senior extension programs and was granted opportunity for further studies run under the strict teaching of the Queensland Actors Playhouse.

By 2010, Winnie was an ambassador for the La boîte theatre company and by 2012 Winnie was working in and behind the scenes of short films. In 2015, Winnie was thrilled when she got the call to play a maid in the 5th instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean saga: Dead Men Tell No Tales. She was also extremely humbled when she was called upon to play an Asgardian in the 3rd instalment of THOR: Ragnarok, and later jumped on board the set of Aquaman to work behind the scenes.

Winnie’s success began to reach new heights when she was cast as “Michelle” in the award winning film “Sophie’s Turn” where she potrayed, a rebellious, yet sensitive character.

At the beginning of 2018 She studied at the Academy of Movement Arts and Sciences, as well as the highly reputable Millennium Dance Complex and Chubbuck acting Studio in LA. When she arrived back in brisbane, Winnie was hand picked among hundreds of applicants across the country to be a participant in Australia's first Diversity Showcase held in Sydney. The inaugural event was a complete success, showcasing Winnie's unique talents as an actress.

Winnie has a deep love and appreciation for the arts, and is a firm believer that a critical aspect of an Actors craft is knowing how to shape moments and not just be a part of them. She acknowledges she’s fortunate enough to serve a unique role in telling stories about human experience, and feels grateful being a part of that.
