Naderev “Yeb” Madla Saño is Greenpeace Southeast Asia's Executive Director.

He served as Commissioner (with the rank of Undersecretary/ Vice-Minister) of the Philippines’ Climate Change Commission, the country’s lead policy- making body on climate change. He served as the Philippines’ Chief Negotiator in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). In 2013, he served as the Co-Chair of the [https://unfccc.int/ UNFCCC]’s Long Term Finance Work Programme.

Before being appointed as Commissioner, he served as the Director of the Climate Change Program of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Philippines). Before joining government, he had been working with local communities and international bodies for more than 14 years, working on domestic and international issues that relate to climate change, clean energy, biodiversity, coastal and marine resources, tourism, disaster risk reduction and local governance. He began working on climate change issues since 1997 and previously managed projects on coastal resources and fisheries conservation, as well as environmental education, working to promote sustainable development and environmental law enforcement. He also actively worked on the development of programs on adaptation of marine ecosystems and coastal communities to climate change and the development of clean and renewable energy for the country. He also served as the National Director of the Earth Hour campaign in the Philippines from 2008-2010.

Yeb is Spiritual Ambassador for OurVoices, a call to people of faith and moral belief, across the world, to engage on the issue of climate change. OurVoices is an international, multi- faith campaign for strong climate action and climate justice. As part of this work, he was the Pilgrim Leader of The People’s Pilgrimage, a special journey that highlights communities confronting climate impacts but manifesting resilience and spiritual strength and which culminated in a 1,500 kilometer walk from Rome to Paris from September to December 2015.

He was also the Global Ambassador of the Seize Your Power Campaign, and Ambassador for the [https://www.peoplevsoil.org/en-PH/savethearctic/ Save the Arctic Movement]. He also served as the independent Board Member in the International Board of Directors of Plan International and also serves as a Trustee for the Turtle Conservation Society of the Philippines and an Executive Trustee of the Inclusive Mobility Network of the Philippines. He is also an active individual member of the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice.

A product of the [https://www.up.edu.ph/ University of the Philippines], he holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a graduate diploma degree in Community Development. He also attended the College for Conservation Leadership in the Netherlands, and studied a course on International Politics at the University College in Washington University. He was a Fellow at the Oxford Climate Policy Centre based in Oxford University under the European Capacity Building Initiative.

Yeb is married to Atty. Eunice Agsaoay, an environment, community, and academe lawyer. They have two children, Yanni and Amira. He is also an avid scuba diver, soccer player, bird photographer, painter, peace activist, and a firm believer in community empowerment.
