The video also includes a speech by 300 Entertainment co-founder, Kevin Liles, praising the new label[4]In 2017 YSL announced it's first signee, fellow Atlanta native Gunna who was also being courted by Thug's mentor and former label Gucci Mane & 1017 Brick Squad Records. During a string of mixtape releases that year, the label would announce further signees to the label with Youngboy Never Broke Again signing a 5-album joint venture deal with YSL and Atlantic Records after opting against signing with Birdman's Cash Money Records, Lil Duke would also join the label alongside Thug's sisters Dolly and HiDoraah. April 27, 2018 NBA Youngboy released his first project under the label titled Until Death Call My Name, the next official release under the label was August 17, 2018 with Slime Language featuring the newer signees to the label alongside Thug & Gunna, Youngboy was not featured on the collective project due to the continued success of his debut album. Drip Harder a collaborative mixtape by American rappers Lil Baby and Gunna was released on October 5, 2018 under YSL Records (Gunna), Quality Control Music, Motown and Capitol Records (Lil Baby). Following the release of his debut album I Am You, YNW Melly announced he has been signed to YSL after posting a picture of himself with Thugger & J.
