HistoryŌzu Castle is a castle in Ōzu. It was the government office of the Ōzu Clan during the Edo period. The keep was rebuilt in 2004. Municipal timelineOn September 1, 1954 the city was founded. On January 11, 2005 Ōzu expanded by absorbing the towns of Hijikawa, Nagahama, and the village of Kawabe from Kita District. {{As of|2012|3|31}}, the city had an estimated population of 47,601, with 20,167 households and a population density of 110.13 persons per km2.
