Historically the current building is the third such hall built on the land with the first being in the 17th century.[1][2] The Hall is believed to have been built around 1830, by Samuel Taylor, a cotton manufacturer. It is constructed mainly of sandstone ashlar, with a roof of Welsh slate.[3] References1. ^{{cite web|title=SJ4895 : Eccleston Hall|url=https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/444767|website=geograph.org.uk|accessdate=23 May 2017}} {{England-struct-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|title=Eccleston Hall|url=https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1392654|website=Historic England|accessdate=23 May 2017}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101392654-eccleston-hall-eccleston-ward#.WSRONWjyvcs|title=Eccleston Hall|website=British listed buildings|accessdate=23 May 2017}} 4 : Grade II listed buildings in Merseyside|Country houses in Merseyside|Grade II listed houses|Buildings and structures in St Helens, Merseyside |
