Built in 1916, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.[2] It was designated a Stockton Historic Landmark by resolution number 34,306 on July 11, 1977.[3] HistoryEl Dorado Elementary School is a two-story, brick, U-shaped structure. It was enlarged in 1922, by adding four classrooms to each wing. At a later, unknown date, the open court between the two wings was roofed over to provide a covered play area.[2] The state commission considered demolishing the El Dorado Elementary School building in 1976 due to concerns about earthquake safety[4], but chose to retain it.[5] References1. ^{{NRISref|version=2013a}} 2. ^1 {{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=77000335}}|title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory/Nomination: El Dorado Elementary School |publisher=National Park Service|author=Victor Galbraith |date=June 5, 1976 |accessdate=February 16, 2019}} With {{NRHP url|id=77000335|photos=y|title=with twelve accompanying pictures taken in 1976}} 3. ^{{cite web |title=NOTICE OF PREPARATION OF A DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT & NOTICE OF PUBLIC SCOPING MEETING & PUBLIC REVIEW PERIOD; Appendix G |url=https://www.courts.ca.gov/documents/stockton_eir_appendices_a-g.pdf}} 4. ^{{cite news |title=Our Historical Status-Seekers |url=https://access.newspaperarchive.com/us/california/oakland/oakland-tribune/1976/08-18/page-113/?psi=14&pci=7&pep=el-dorado-elementary&psb=relevance |work=Oakland Tribune |date=August 18, 1976}} 5. ^{{cite web |title=Closed and / or Demolished School Buildings |url=https://www.wrightrealtors.com/stockton/schools-closed.htm |website=Wright Realtors}} External Links[https://www.stocktonusd.net/SchoolForAdults Stockton School for Adults], official website {{National Register of Historic Places}}
