}}Elenga ({{lang-bn|এলেঙ্গা}}) is a town in Kalihati Upazila of Tangail District, Bangladesh. The town is situated {{convert|10|km|mi}} away from Tangail city and {{convert|105|km}} northwest of Dhaka city, the capital.[3][4]

Geography

According to geographical area Elenga Municipality is situated {{convert|10|km}} north-east from Tangail District headquarters. There is a river called Lowhajong is following near west side of Elenga Municipality.

The total population of Elenga Municipality is 55000. Among them 26,950 are male and 28050 are female. Total voter number: 27,329

Shafi Khan is playing role as a mayor of Elenga Municipality. He was elected the mayor of Elenga Municipality on 28 March 2013 in municipality election.Nur Alam Siddiqui is currently role playing as the Mayor of Eleanga Municipality; He was elected Mayor of the newly formed Elenga Municipality on March 29, 2018.[7]
