Eleonore von Habsburg-Lothringen (Eleonore Jelena Maria del Pilar Iona, born 28 February 1994), also known as Eleonore Habsburg, is an Austrian fashion model and member of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine.

Biography

Eleonore von Habsburg was born in 1994 in Salzburg to Archduke Karl von Habsburg, a politician and head of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, and Baroness Francesca Anne Dolores von Thyssen-Bornemisza de Kászon et Impérfalva, an art collector and member of the Thyssen family and Bornemisza family.^[1] Her maternal grandparents are Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza and Fiona Frances Elaine Campbell-Walter.^[2] Her paternal grandparents were Archduke Otto von Habsburg, Crown Prince of Austria and Princess Regina of Saxe-Meiningen. Her paternal great-grandparents, Charles I of Austria and Zita of Bourbon-Parma, were the last Emperor and Empress of Austria.^[3]

Habsburg attended boarding school in Gstaad before studying law at the European Business School London.^[4] Habsburg works as a fashion model, and has been in advertisement campaigns and walked the runway for Dolce & Gabbana.^[5]^[6] She was arrested at Coachella for underage drinking, but it was later confirmed by law enforcement that she was of age and the charges were dropped.^[7] Her brother is race car driver Ferdinand Zvonimir von Habsburg.^[8] Eleonore von Habsburg is engaged to Belgian race car driver Jérôme d'Ambrosio.^[9]^[10]

Titles and styles

Habsburg does not use her traditional imperial titles of Archduchess of Austria and Royal Princess of Hungary, Bohemia and Croatia as they are not recognized by the Austrian, Hungarian, Czech and Croatian governments. She is sometimes referred to by these titles socially abroad and in genealogical literature, but these titles are not legal since the fall of the Austrian Empire and since her grandfather, Otto von Habsburg, officially renounced all claims to the Austrian throne in 1961.^[11] Were she to use her titles, she would be styled as Her Imperial and Royal Highness Archduchess Eleonore of Austria, Royal Princess of Hungary, Bohemia and Croatia.
