Though she created landscapes and still life, she was noted for her portraits, which were often of the upper-class and bourgeoisie of Milan. Among her subjects were her close friend, the poet Delio Tessa, and Pope Pius XI, a long-time family friend.[3][4] The Soroptimist Club of Milan, the first Soroptimist club in Italy, was organized during a series of meetings held at Keller’s residence in 1928. Besides Keller, the first 25 members included the composer Giulia Recli and the writer Ada Negri.[2] In 1931, Elisabeth Keller became the second president of the organization.[2] References1. ^1 2 {{cite web|last1=Isastia|first1=Anna Maria|title=La Nascita del Soroptimist dagli Stati Uniti all’Europa – Il club di Milano|url=http://docplayer.it/4634011-Anna-maria-isastia-la-nascita-del-soroptimist-dagli-stati-uniti-all-europa-il-club-di-milano.html|accessdate=6 April 2018|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20180406052912/http://docplayer.it/4634011-Anna-maria-isastia-la-nascita-del-soroptimist-dagli-stati-uniti-all-europa-il-club-di-milano.html|archivedate=6 April 2018|deadurl=no|language=it|trans-title=The Birth of the Soroptimist from the United States to Europe - The Milan Club}} 3. ^{{cite web|last1=Muscardini|first1=Giuseppe|title=Le frequentazioni svizzere di Delio Tessa|url=http://www.go-italy.net/item/le-frequentazioni-svizzere-di-delio-tessa-/94/5010|website=Go Italy|accessdate=6 April 2018|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20180406211130/http://www.go-italy.net/item/le-frequentazioni-svizzere-di-delio-tessa-/94/5010|archivedate=6 April 2018|deadurl=no|language=it|trans-title=Delio Tessa’s Swiss Acquaintances|date=15 February 2018}} 7 : 1891 births|1969 deaths|Italian women artists|Swiss women artists|20th-century Swiss artists|20th-century Italian artists|19th-century women artists |
