He was called "the virtuoso and poet of Kamancha" in foreign media after his grandiose performance in closing ceremony of Baku 2015 European Olympic Games. He has won "Grand prix" in ethnic song competition held in Turkmenistan in 2010, he has been the winner of the "V Republic Instrumental Mugham Competition" organized in Azerbaijan in 2018. The winner of International Mugham Festival "World of Mugham" held in Azerbaijan in 2018. (Laureate) LifeMikayilov Elnur Babakishi was born on January 26, 1984 in Shamakhi city. The endless interest of Elnur, who attracted attention for his limitless interest to poem and music from early ages, to performances of the well-known kamancha master Habil Aliyev as from 6–7 years old has played an important role in devoting his conscientious life to music. Elnur getting education in the Shamakhi musical school number 1 continued his education in Baku – Secondary Music School named after Bul-Bul. In 1999, he admitted to Baku Music College named after Asaf Zeynalli. The young kamancha performer after having successfully finished the college has got his higher education in Azerbaijan National Conservatory in 2003–2007. ActivityThe creativity of Elnur Mikayilov began from the student years. Beginning from the student years, he worked together with a number of well-known musicians and artists of Azerbaijan and shared the scene with them. Elnur Mikayilov gained the sympathy of master artists within short period of time. Elnur has already become one of the loved and known performers when he was student. Elnur Mikayilov made solo performances in great music festivals in the US and Germany with the initiative of the expert of "UNESCO", well-known musicologist Sanubar Baghirova in 2007. The concert activity of Elnur Mikayilov bega with his performances in the US and Germany in 2007. Beginning from 2007, he performed either as an accompanist or soloist in most influential international music festivals and concert scenes in various places of the world, in many countries of Europe and Asia – Germany, England, Italy, France, Sweden, Spain, Netherlands, Greece, Austria, Turkey, Iran, China and as well as North America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Elnur Mikayilov has accompanied a number of well-known Azerbaijan singers in important international festival spaces as "WOMAD" (Australia and New Zealand – 2010, England – 2012), “Sharg Teraneleri" (Samarqand – 2011), "WOMEX" (Greece – 2012), "Musicadei Popoli" (Italy – 2012), "Asian Festival" (Barcelona – 2012), "PROMS" (England – 2013), "South – East" (USA – 2014) and as well as in all international mugham festivals held in Baku since 2009 and performed in opening, closing ceremonies of the festival as a soloist. Beginning from 2015, he was remembered with solo kamancha performance in several grandiose concerts, as well as in closing ceremony of the 1 st International European Games held in Baku in 2015. He made solo performance in the closing ceremony of the Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017. Elnur Mikayilov has tried himself in other genres of music in addition to mugham, such as jazz or modern composer music. As such, he gave concerts with world-famous ethno jazz artist Dhafer Youssef in 2016 and with jazz vocalist Pyer de Treqomani in 2016–2017 in France, he performed in the concerts together with world-famous percussion instruments player Misirli Ahmad from Turkey in 2014, 2015 and 2016. The people's artist of Azerbaijan, world-famous composer Firangiz Alizada assigned Elnur Mikayilov to perform the kamancha part in her concert titled "Oyan" held based on her work titled "Oyan" and this work was performed in the live concert in Toronto city of Canada in 2015–2016 with the initiative of the world-famous dancer Sashar Zarif. The performances of Elnur Mikayilov were realized in many foreign countries and recorded on audio CDs. His performances were also recorded in the discs released by "Felmay Record” company in Italy. Furthermore, his solo performances were recorded in the disks "Mugham from Azerbaijan. TURAN Mugham Ensemble" (2010) released in Australia and "Mugham of Azerbaijan" (2013) in England. Elnur Mikayilov has strong improvisation possibilities and these draws him to make interesting steps in the field of composer. He has already several music compositions. The composition written by Elnur Mikayilov for kamancha and piano in 2016 was given the opinion in the press- release of January 2017 of "European-Azerbaijan Society": "The composition of Elnur Mikayilov is a nice music composed within the framework of mugham music "vocabulary" and time "grammer". He was called "the virtuoso and poet of Kamancha" in foreign media after his grandiose performance in closing ceremony of Baku 2015 European Olympic Games. Awards
