SymbolismThe blue semicircle represents the Euphrates river, and the yellow represents the "permanent spring". The seven red stars represent the regions of northeast Syria, the design also features a branch of olives and a spike of wheat, two crops grown in the region. The emblem has "Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria" written in Arabic, Kurdish, Syriac and Turkish, and "Autonomous Administration" in Arabic at the center. The administration's media office in The Hague said the new design is meant to "reflect who it is today and to symbolise the future of the peoples of the region."
