Company historyEmerald Waterways was founded in 2013 by the Australian-based travel company, The Scenic Group. The company launched their first two ships, Emerald Sky and Emerald Star, to sail the Rhine, Main and Danube, in 2014. Emerald Sky was christened by the ship’s godmother Twiggy in April 2014.{{cn|date=December 2018}} In 2015, they introduced two further ships, Emerald Sun and Emerald Dawn, also sailing the Rhine, Main and Danube. Three further ships were commissioned in 2017, Emerald Destiny, sailing the Rhine, Main and Danube, Emerald Liberté sailing France’s Rhône and Saône, and Emerald Radiance, sailing on the Douro in Portugal. Future shipsEmerald Harmony which will be commissioned to sail the Mekong River in Southeast Asia is expected to join the company in 2019. The fleet
