She is best known for her role as Maeve Wiley in the Netflix original series Sex Education. BiographyEmma Tachard-Mackey was born in Le Mans, France, to a French father and a British mother. Her father, Philippe, is a headmaster. Her mother, Rachel, is a volunteer at a charity. She grew up in Sablé-sur-Sarthe and received her Baccalauréat in 2013. She moved to the United Kingdom at age 17, and later attended the University of Leeds.[2] CareerMackey stars alongside Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson and Ncuti Gatwa in the Netflix comedy-drama series Sex Education.[3][4] Her character in Sex Education, Maeve Wiley, is a quick witted and business-savvy "bad girl" who convinces a fellow student to start an underground sex therapy business at their school.[5][6] Sex Education is Mackey's first major television series.
