Villares was elected as new party leader on 24 December 2018 amid accusations of fraud and vote rigging,[8][9] prompting Podemos, Anova and EU to withdraw from En Marea, dubbing it as a "failed" political project and hinting at the creation of a new and separate alliance.[10][11][12][13] CompositionUntil January 2019:
