The Entomologischer Verein Krefeld is a entomological society in Krefeld, which collects and studies the insects of the area. It was founded in 1905 since when it has kept meticulous records and specimens. These showed that, between 1990 and 2016, there had been a 75% decline in the number of flying insects in the 63 nature reserves of the region. Their paper on this decline was published in PLOS One in 2017.
