E-Periodica is an open access platform operated by ETH Library for digitized journals and regular publications from or on Switzerland. The range of topics includes science, architecture, mathematics, history, geography, art, culture, environmental policy and social policy. The journals are digitized and the digital data is prepared for presentation online at ETH Library. The contents are available in full text and can be downloaded as a PDF. All journals on the platform are freely accessible. Depending on the agreement with the respective publisher, there may be an embargo of a maximum of five years for more recent editions.[1] The platform was conceived by the Consortium of Swiss University Libraries in 2006 within the scope of the Swiss innovation and cooperative project e-lib.ch . The service was initially called retro.seals.ch – seals standing for the sub-project Swiss Electronic Academic Library Service.
