GameplayThe game consists of three modes: Tutorial, Snowboarder and X-Games.[1] With the Snowboarder mode, it all begins in a town with some resorts to pick from while entering competitions and building charisma. As it builds up, the player is able to take part in photo-shoots, earn sponsors for equipment, and enter more and more demanding competitions until the main event is reached, The X-Games. There are five events to enter, like Slopestyle, (as many trick points as possible), Snowboarder X (a race down the hill), Super Pipe (attacking a massive half-pipe), Big Air (giving a chance to pull off as big trick as possible), and Free Ride. Meanwhile, X-Games mode offers a selection of 13 real professional snowboarders to choose from, including Travis Parker, Peter Line, Todd Richards and more, along with their attributes. The player can choose which events to compete in and after a qualifying run, immediately jump into The X-Games competition.[2][3] There is also a create your character feature added in. Apart from giving the character a name and choosing gender and age, it lets you customize by shaping the appearance of the character, adjusting height and weight, and choosing his/her snowboarding style and ability. The game's soundtrack features more than 12 songs from the bands like The Offspring, 311 and Jurassic 5.[4] References1. ^{{cite web|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20080531095935/http://www.planetxbox.com/features/reviews/2002/espnsnowboarding/|title=ESPN X-Games Snowboarding 2002 Review|last=Bub|first=Andrew|work=PlanetXbox|date=March 16, 2002|accessdate=January 3, 2019}} {{racing-videogame-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/espn-winter-x-games-snowboarding-2002-review/1900-2852852/|title=ESPN Winter X-Games Snowboarding 2002 Review|last=Satterfield|first=Shane|work=Gamespot|date=May 17, 2006|accessdate=January 3, 2019}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.ign.com/articles/2002/02/21/espn-winter-x-games-snowboarding-2002|title=ESPN WINTER X GAMES SNOWBOARDING 2002|last=Smith|first=David|work=IGN|date=February 21, 2002|accessdate=January 3, 2019}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20050320180114/http://www.sgn.cc:80/other/espn_x-games_snowboarding_2002/review_ps2.shtml|title=ESPN Winter X Games Snowboarding 2002 (PS2) Review|last=O'Neill|first=Chris|work=Sports Gaming Network|date=February 28, 2002|accessdate=January 3, 2019}} 5 : 2002 video games|PlayStation 2 games|Xbox games|Racing video games|Video games developed in Japan |
