On June 29, 1810, Pope Pius VII appointed him Coadjutor Vicar Apostolic of Siam and Titular Bishop of Sozopolis in Haemimonto.[1] On March 4, 1811, he succeeded Arnaud-Antoine Garnault and became Vicar Apostolic of Siam.
